Chatham County recently issued the following announcement.
In recognition of Black History Month in February, Chatham Community Library will host a virtual film screening of Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power (2020). This program is free and open to the public.
WHAT: Virtual Film Screening: Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power
WHEN: Thursday, February 10 - Thursday, February 17, 2022

WHO: This feature documentary reveals the many challenges faced by Representative Barbara Lee (D-CA) early in her life, including raising two sons as a single mother on food stamps and surviving domestic violence. With unique access to a sitting member of Congress, this film not only introduces audiences to Barbara Lee, but to many others such as Senator Cory Booker and Representative John Lewis, who share their insights.

A password is required at the time of viewing. Those who are interested may contact social.library@chathamlibraries.org to request the password or for additional information. The library has purchased a hard copy of the film if residents who wish to see the film miss the virtual screening window.
