Daniel Register has been appointed as the Director of Emergency Services at Central Carolina Hospital, effective February 10. Register, who hails from Willow Springs in Johnston County, previously held the same position at Jupiter Medical Center in Florida since 2021.

Register began his career as an Emergency Department staff nurse at Johnson Memorial Hospital and spent a decade with WakeMed Health and Hospitals. His roles there included supervisor and interim manager of adult emergency services for the Level 1 Trauma Center.

In 2009, he joined UNC Health Johnston as Director of Emergency Services, later becoming the Emergency Services System Director until 2021.

Register holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Johnston Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Winston Salem State University. He also earned a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University.

Upon joining Central Carolina Hospital (CCH), Register expressed his optimism about its potential. “I think the hospital is a great community hospital,” he said. “I think it’s in a perfect location for the growth that’s projected for this area. I think it’s got the right people in place.”

He added, “The executive team has been very supportive so far. I like their vision. I think we’re right on the cusp of really making big changes here at Central Carolina Hospital, and I’m happy to be a part of that.”

Currently residing in Angier to be near his mother, Register's wife Angie remains in Florida working as a Nurse Practitioner while caring for their four children: Lauren, Carson, Branson, and Addison.
