Lavatrice Parker has been appointed as the Director of Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and Facility Privacy Officer at Central Carolina Hospital (CCH), starting her role on January 6. Parker brings a wealth of experience to CCH, having previously served as the Director of Health Management Services at Senior TLC in Charlotte since 2023. Her career also includes roles such as Director of Health Information Management Services at Acadia Healthcare and Supervisor of Health Information Management Services at Novant Health, both located in Charlotte.

From 2018 to 2021, Parker held the position of President at the North Carolina Health Information Management Association. She also contributed to education as Interim Program Chair and Adjunct Instructor at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, where she played a key role in revitalizing the Medical Office Administration curriculum.

Parker's educational background includes an Associate of Science degree with a focus on Health Information Technology from Central Piedmont Community College. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Management with a concentration in Health Information Management from DeVry University and completed her Master of Science degree in Management with a concentration in Leadership from Montreat College. Currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration with Executive Coaching from Liberty University, she anticipates completing it next year.

Originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina, Parker has relocated to Sanford with her husband Derrick, who is employed as a welding manager. In her leisure time, she enjoys crafting and traveling.

Reflecting on her new role at CCH, Parker expressed enthusiasm: “I love the hometown feeling of the hospital,” she said. “I like the fact that even though it’s small, there’s a variety of services that we provide here, so it allows me to keep my skills sharp.”
