5.7% of Harnett County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Harnett County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 3,514 people out of the 133,074 living in Harnett County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Harnett County has decreased compared to the 6.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Harnett County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.2%.

Of the 58,153 people who had a job during that time, 4,500 were employed in the Armed Forces and 53,653 belonged to the civilian labor force.
