Tyler Britton was honored with a $25,000 gift from the Trust Education Foundation to establish the J. Tyler Britton and Family School of Business Trust Endowed Scholarship Fund today at the 32nd annual Trust Advisors Forum at Pinehurst Resort.
The scholarship will benefit students of the trust and wealth management program, the nation’s first and only undergraduate degree program of its kind.
Tyler Britton serves as Assistant Professor of Trust and Wealth Management and Director of the Master of Trust and Wealth Management program at Campbell University.
Tyler graduated from Campbell University in 2011, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Trust and Wealth Management and minor in Financial Planning. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law in 2014.
In addition to his duties at Campbell University, Tyler manages and operates his own law firm specializing in estate planning, estate administration, and trust law.
“I don’t get surprised very often; This one is well appreciated,” said Tyler Britton. “Mr. Witherspoon once told me, ‘If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life’, and I believe that strongly. I am honored to be a Campbell professor and honored to receive this award.”
Tyler was recognized at today’s Forum event, one of the largest trust conferences in the nation. This year, more than 300 senior trust managers representing 120 institutions and 38 states ventured to Pinehurst to take part in this cutting-edge continuing education program.
Jimmy Witherspoon, chairman of the Department of Trust and Wealth Management, called it an honor to present the scholarship to Tyler.
“Tyler Britton is an outstanding professor and an even better man,” shared Mr. Jimmy Witherspoon. “We are incredibly blessed to have him on our faculty. He will no doubt be the cornerstone of the Trust program for decades to come.”
