On Friday and Saturday, January 27 and 28, thirty students from Chatham Charter School participated in the North Carolina Senior Beta Club Convention in Greensboro with their advisor, Amber Crossman.

Chatham Charter Beta members joined peers for the state service project and created cards for military personnel who are deployed overseas.  In addition to the service project, general sessions and exhibits, the students participated in competitive events. The Chatham Charter trading pin, designed by Katie Scheffler, placed 3rd. The marketing and communications team of Keeley Allen, Jordyn Garner, Austin Hill, and Tamaya Walden placed 4th, and Lily Jones’ artwork tied for 5th in the Division II drawing category.  The marketing and communications team as well as Jones qualified to compete in the National Beta Club competitions that will be held during the National Convention at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville this summer.

The North Carolina Beta Club is part of the National Beta Club, which  is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth group in the United States serving more than 500,000 members across the United States and beyond. Its mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
