The City of Sanford launched its newly revamped website this week, following a comprehensive redesign process by CivicPlus, a leading government website provider.
The revamped website has a powerful search tool, a fresh web design, and most importantly, a cleaner, easier layout to navigate. Residents and other users will see a familiar but enhanced website that improves information availability, maintains transparency, provides current information, and increases responsiveness.
Website visitors will continue to have access to calendars and agendas, manage email and text subscriptions, apply for jobs, access the latest City news and publications, find information for solid waste and trash pickup, report concerns, and access police incident and accident reports.
To ensure all residents have equal access to information, the website offers the Google translate widget. The widget offers translation into more than 100 languages. “We are proud of Sanford’s diverse population and take every opportunity to remove language as a barrier to civic engagement,” says Kelly Miller, public information officer for the City of Sanford.
“This redesign allows the City to continue its goals of increased community engagement and enhanced communication,” says Mayor Rebecca Wyhof Salmon. “Informed and engaged residents lead to a stronger and healthier community that benefits everyone.”
The City of Sanford first partnered with CivicPlus to produce a modern, responsive website in 2016. This redesign was built into the original contract at no additional cost.
