Campbell University’s School of Education & Human Sciences and Adult & Online Education are collaborating on a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, offered completely online and designed to fulfill requirements for North Carolina state teacher licensure.
The new program addresses the state’s dire need for more qualified teachers, particularly in rural communities by offering Campbell’s teacher education program in a format that works with people throughout the state.
“Campbell University’s new MAT program will give our students the opportunity to earn a Masters degree while obtaining their teacher licensure at the same time,” said Dr. Al Bryant, dean of the School of Education & Human Sciences. “This program is aimed at candidates who have an undergraduate degree in hand and want to become a licensed teacher. The School of Education and Human Sciences is excited to offer this new program to our students.”
Courses are offered in accelerated eight-week academic sessions throughout the year, with the first set starting in mid-August.
