Campbell University announced today the appointment of Hannah Bazemore (’07, ’09 MBA) as the acting director of athletics, effective immediately. Bazemore has served as the senior associate athletics director for business and finance since 2020. Prior to this appointment, she served as Campbell Athletics’ business manager from 2010-2018 and assistant athletics director for business operations from 2018-2020.
Bazemore replaces Omar Banks who announced his departure as director of athletics as of June 30 for personal reasons. Banks joined the Campbell leadership team as director of athletics in August 2019.
In her previous role as senior associate AD for business and finance, Bazemore was responsible for overseeing and supervising all financial aspects of the athletic department including planning, implementing, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. In addition, she oversaw select internal operating units, including human resources, facility operations, event management and equipment operations.
In 12 years of experience with Campbell Athletics, Bazemore has engaged and managed virtually every administrative area, including financial planning of a $27 million operation, budgeting, information technology, facilities, game operations, athletic equipment operations and capital projects (including a sports performance center and softball turf project). She also served as member of the Campbell Athletics executive leadership team where she provided strategic advisement and oversight of department initiatives. Further, Bazemore oversaw key contract negotiations with the department’s major partners including Under Armour, Academy Bus and Teamworks.
Bazemore will report to President J. Bradley Creed and serve on the Campbell President’s Cabinet.

Bazemore graduated from Campbell in 2007 with a B.S. in sport’s management with a minor in business administration. She earned an MBA from Campbell in 2009. She is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) and Women Leaders in College Sports.
