Duke Energy is performing vegetation management in areas along Hawkins Avenue through the end of July.
During this process, private contractor Xylem Tree Company will cut limbs and trees in Duke Energy rights-of-way. Because the work is done by a private contractor, the trucks will not be marked as Duke Energy.
The areas being managed include Hawkins Avenue (between US 1/15-501 and Burns Drive), Friars Drive, Canterbury Road, Amos Bridges Road, McNeill Road, Piedmont Drive, and Nob Hill Drive.
The circuit length for the project is 14.65 miles, includes 1,700 customers, and was last cut in 2016.
