Hope

City of Sanford recently issued the following announcement.

This information is shared on behalf of Brick Capital CDC as a courtesy to City of Sanford residents.

The federal eviction moratorium ended on August 26, leaving many renters to face eviction. However, state assistance for renters and landlords is available.

The North Carolina Housing Opportunities and Prevention of Evictions (HOPE) Program provides rent and utility assistance to low-income renters that are experiencing financial hardship due to the economic impacts of COVID-19.

The program helps prevent evictions and utility disconnections to promote housing stability during the ongoing pandemic.

“The funding through the NC HOPE program will help many families continue to stay in their residences even when they have struggle to pay rent due to hardships related to the COVID-19 pandemic” says Kerry Bashaw, executive director Brick Capital Community Development Corporation.

“We hope families in Sanford take advantage of this state program to help them continue to live where they are. Brick Capital is ready to assist those who are facing eviction and can provide housing counseling to help both tenants and landlords resolve any rental payment issues,” Bashaw says.

Learn more about the program and see how to apply here. Contact Brick Capital CDC at 919-775-2300.
