Celebrate Cary’s Agricultural Roots With Fall Events at Good Hope Farm

Townofcary

Town of Cary issued the following announcement on Sept. 9.

This fall, Good Hope Farm will host multiple events aimed at local agricultural and food security education; highlights of the season include the new Harvest Fest series, and the return of the popular Farm to Fork event.

Harvest Fest, held monthly from September-November, is a free, family event with music, entertainment, and food with locally-crafted items for sale and opportunities to learn from and greet community organizations.

The annual Farm to Fork celebration returns on October 2 with a night of dining, dancing, and entertainment under the stars.

The Town of Cary will celebrate the fall season with several events at Good Hope Farm, which will highlight a commitment to local agricultural and food security education. The proceeds from these events will also support local vendors, community organizations, and the farm itself as both a working farm and historical resource for Cary and the surrounding area.

Harvest Fest, a celebration of Cary’s agricultural roots, headlines the season’s event calendar and will be held on three dates throughout the fall of 2021: on September 18, October 16, and November 20. Each event is free and open to the public, with family-friendly atmosphere, live music, a kids’ play area, farm-fresh food, and beer trucks. Guests can also peruse locally-crafted, garden-themed items for sale, or chat with environmental experts from local community organizations, such as the NC Native Plant Society. Parking will be unavailable on the premises; instead, a complimentary shuttle service will be available to and from the Good Hope Baptist Church parking lot at 6628 Good Hope Church Rd.

On October 2, the popular Farm to Fork celebration and fundraiser returns to Good Hope Farm for a night of dining, dancing, and fresh local food under the stars. The event ticket includes a farm-fresh gourmet meal, locally-brewed beer and cider, entertainment from a surprise musical guest, and a signature gift. All proceeds from this event will support the work of Good Hope Farm in creating food security and agricultural education in the region. The delicious menu is both gluten-free and vegetarian friendly. Tickets can be purchased at the Good Hope Farm online store.
