Chatham County recently issued the following announcement.
The Chatham County Solid Waste & Recycling Siler City Collection Center will be closed on Wednesday, September 1, and Thursday, September 2 for construction. The Siler City Collection Center is located at 135 Silk Hope Road, Siler City. The concrete drain under the compactor is broken and needs to be removed and replaced, so the public is not allowed on site.
On Wednesday, the Bonlee, Cole Park, and Pittsboro Collection Centers will be open. On Thursday, the 11 other Collection Centers will be open. Visit the Collection Center web page for location details.
In the event of heavy rain, the work will be rescheduled. Up-to-date information will be posted on the department website. Residents can also contact the Main Office at (919) 542-5516 Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
