Lee County issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
The Lee County Health Department (LCHD) is prepared to offer booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccine beginning September 28th. This is subject to authorization from the US Food and Drug Administration and sign off from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Heath Cain, Director of the LCHD said, “We are prepared to offer booster shots for our community beginning September 28th provided all authorizations have been given. This booster vaccine should be administered 8 months following an individual’s second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The individuals who were fully vaccinated earliest in the rollout, including many health care providers and nursing home residents will likely be eligible for a booster beginning in late September.”
All booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccine will be given at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center, located at 1801 Nash Street in Sanford, NC. The health department will provide Covid-19 vaccine clinics on the following dates:
September 28th 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
