Lee County issued the following announcement on Nov. 24.
On Friday, December 4, 2020, the Lee County Government (LCG) Information Technology (IT) department will be moving to a new facility. Beginning Friday morning, county IT systems will be unavailable for a period of 24 to 60 hours to facilitate the move of equipment and servers. The system outage will impact all county programs and services. All systems are scheduled to be restored no later than Monday, December 7th at 8 AM.
The county 9-1-1 system will not be impacted. All emergency services remain operational and available to the public during this time - to report a public health or public safety emergency please dial 9-1-1.
County offices will remain open to the public on December 4th and staff will be on hand to help assist citizens and visitors with questions. Please note that staff will not have access to nor be able to provide regular services and programs, especially those that are reliant on IT systems. Additionally, the service outage will impact county phones, email, and internet including all on-line services. Some of the most commonly used programs include Tax Office property billing searches; Parks and Recreation online registrations; and electronic services at the Library.
The public may call (919) 718-4690 on Friday, December 4th to reach an operator that will connect callers with the departments they are trying to reach.
More detailed information about limitations and access to specific county services and programs will be made available closer to December 4th. However, the public should plan accordingly as most county services will be unavailable on Friday, December 4th.
For additional information and questions about the scheduled service outage, please contact LCG Information Technology at 919-718-4680.
