Rep. John Sauls (R-Harnett) received endorsements from National Rifle Association and the Lee County sheriff, the Republican lawmaker said on his Facebook page.
His endorsement from the Lee County Sheriff Tracy Carter also comes with a vote of confidence.
“I will always support our law enforcement officers, who risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe,” Sauls said in his Sept. 29 Facebook post.
The NRA endorsed Sauls and gave him an “A” rating for his record to protect Second Amendment rights.
“I’m proud to stand with the lawful gun owners of North Carolina,” Sauls said in the Facebook post.
Sauls lists as his accomplishments as a legislator securing $500,000 for Central Carolina Community College, getting legislation passed to protect jobs at Static Control in Lee County and obtaining funds for a Sanford homeless shelter, a new terminal for the Raleigh Executive Jetport and public art, according to his website.
The Republican incumbent faces a challenge from Democrat Jason Cain.
