A Harnett County official said an award from the American Heart Association is a reflection of the work, life-saving at times, done by first responders.
The county's emergency medical services team received the American Heart Association's Mission Lifeline EMS Gold Plus Award in May, Harnett officials said in an Aug. 5 news release. The award was given to EMS for implementing quality improvement efforts for patients who encounter severe heart attacks.
“Harnett County EMS System is dedicated to providing optimal care for heart attack patients,” Emergency Services Director Larry Smith said in the news release. “This award is the direct reflection of our entire EMS Staff. We are pleased to be recognized for our dedication and achievements in emergency medical care efforts through Mission Lifeline.”
This marks the fourth straight year that the Harnett County emergency medical services unit won the association's award, the county said in the release. The award was officially presented on May 13.
