City of Sanford recently issued the following announcement.
The safety and security of our community is the City of Sanford's top priority. We are taking the current spread of COVID-19 very seriously and are working in partnership with Lee County and other local partners as we continue to monitor this evolving situation closely.
Effective March 30, 2020, Gov. Roy Cooper has issued a statewide "Stay at Home" executive order. Read the executive order here and view FAQs about the order here.
Effective March 25, 2020 all municipal facilities are closed to the public and the City remains fully operational at this time. Each department has provided an update below to help the public with conducting business.
We encourage you to take the following measures to help you and your loved ones remain healthy:
- Stay home if you are ill
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water
- Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue
- Discard tissues after a single use
- Practice physical distancing
- Follow the CDC's travel guidance
