The City of Sanford announced on Apr. 15 that its Thursday night summer concert series will return to Depot Park after two years at Kiwanis Family Park. The first concert is scheduled for June 4, featuring the Tuesday Night Music Club, with music starting at 6:30 p.m.

Depot Park is described as a central location in downtown Sanford and has been a popular spot for live music events. The city said the concerts are returning now that construction on the Depot Building is complete.

The Thursday night concerts will continue weekly through August, except during the week of July 4th. That week, Sanford will celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday with an event at Kiwanis Family Park on July 4, including music, food trucks, and fireworks beginning at dusk.

In addition to the Thursday events, Kiwanis Family Park will keep hosting Second Sunday concerts during spring and fall months. Remaining spring dates are April 12 and May 10, with each Sunday concert starting at 5 p.m. and featuring a different food truck.

Residents are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating and may bring coolers; however, glass containers are not permitted. More information about concert lineups and park details can be found on the Parks Programs section of Sanford’s website or by following the Parks Department on social media for updates.
