The Pittsboro Board of Commissioners received a presentation on April 13 from Police Chief Shorty Johnson about the use of Flock Safety Automatic License Plate Reader cameras, according to an announcement released on April 16. The meeting took place at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center.

Chief Johnson provided an overview of the Flock Safety system, explained its background, described how it is used by the Pittsboro Police Department, and answered questions from board members. Additional details and full presentation materials are available on the Town of Pittsboro’s website.

During the same meeting, commissioners approved the location for parkland in Chatham Park South Village Section 2.1 (D2). The site covers about 50 acres with direct road frontage along South Village Way and is expected to connect to a planned greenway network. More information about this project can be found online.
