Claudia Lucia, a certified Physician Assistant, has joined Central Carolina Sandhills Family Care in Sanford. She began seeing patients on April 21. Lucia will work alongside Robert McConville, MD, Parker McConville, MD, and Andrew Caldwell, DO. Other medical professionals at the location include Kazz Marsey, PA-C, Sally Chapin, FNP-C, and Tiesha Ward, FNP-C.

“Sanford and Lee County need greater access to primary care,” said Dave Santoemma, CEO of CCH. “Adding new providers like Claudia will help improve access to care as our community continues to grow.”

Lucia is originally from Apex and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science from N.C. State University in Raleigh in 2021. She earned her Master of Science of Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University in Greenville in 2024.

Her clinical training includes rotations in family medicine and emergency medicine at ECU Health Multispecialty Clinics in Belhaven and Edenton. She also completed a pediatrics rotation at Washington Pediatrics, PA.

Lucia is prepared to see patients across all age groups and has particular interests in procedures such as IUD placement, Nexplanon placement, dermatologic procedures including shave biopsies and excisional biopsies, incision and drainage (I&D), and GYN-specific complaints.

Outside her professional life, Lucia enjoys activities such as paddleboarding, hiking, cooking new foods along with traveling and spending time with friends and family.
