Central Carolina Hospital has released its community benefit report for 2024, detailing efforts to bolster local health and economic conditions in alignment with its mission to make communities healthier.

“For more than 115 years, Central Carolina Hospital has been proud to call Sanford and Lee County our home,” said Dave Santoemma, Chief Executive Officer of CCH. He added, “This year’s report underscores our ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality care possible—both inside and outside our hospital walls.”

The report highlights the hospital’s initiatives to address growing healthcare demands, including the addition of 68 providers in various specialties such as cardiology, OB/GYN, midwifery, primary care, and more. CCH also dedicated nearly $5.2 million to capital improvements, acquiring new medical equipment and undertaking renovations.

In 2024, the hospital donated over $31 million in health services to those unable to pay, maintaining its commitment to accessible care. Additionally, CCH invested over $39.3 million in salaries and benefits for its 510 employees and contributed more than $62,000 towards professional development and tuition assistance.

Further community investment included the payment of $9.5 million in local and state taxes, alongside support for local organizations such as Central Carolina Community College Foundation and Sanford Area Growth Alliance.

“We feel fortunate to call Sanford and Lee County our home,” Santoemma stated, appreciating the community’s trust and the dedication of CCH’s staff. He concluded, “As we look ahead to the future, we remain committed to honoring our legacy while further enhancing the many ways we serve our neighbors and communities.”
