Arrest made in Blue Jade Spa investigation in Pittsboro

The Pittsboro Police Department announced on April 17 that an arrest has been made in connection with the Blue Jade Spa investigation. Chao Li, a 37-year-old resident of Garner, North Carolina, was arrested by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office on April 16 for charges brought by the Pittsboro Police Department.

According to police, Li was identified as one of the owners of Blue Jade Spa. The charges against him include felony promotion of prostitution, misdemeanor aid and abet prostitution, unlicensed practice of massage or body work, and advertising without a license.

Li posted a $3,000 bond for the misdemeanor charges but remains held on the felony charge. He is scheduled to appear in Chatham County Court on April 22.

The case is still under active investigation by local authorities. No further information has been released at this time.
